Therapy is the cornerstone of treating mental health conditions and is at the heart of what we provide.  Depending on what you are struggling with, the therapeutic approach may differ, but rest assure, we utilize a variety of empirically supported interventions to help you get your life back on track.  A frequently utilized approach, and one in which research supports, is called cognitive behavior therapy (CBT).  This involves modifying dysfunctional thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.   CBT has been shown to help with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, and personality dysfunction.  Other modalities are also applied depending on the age and presenting problem of the person.

We offer couples, family, and individual therapy across the lifespan.

Psychotropic medication can be an essential component or helpful adjunct to treatment.  It has proven to be effective to treat a variety of mental health conditions.  While the goal is always to minimize this intervention, at times, it is necessary for therapy to be optimally effective.  We offer this service to adults (age 18 and older).

Having a more definitive diagnosis can go a long way for treatment, and sometimes an evaluation may be necessary for a third party (e.g. school district).  We offer comprehensive psychological evaluations to assist in answering a variety of referral questions by utilizing the most up to date, clinically validated, reliable instruments.  Other assessments include “risk assessments” in which the person’s risk to themselves or others is assessed. Typically, these referrals are made from a school or a place of business.
